Amazon vs Cortez

Ballot creation date: 02/13/2019

Fact: The Amazon Company placed about 200 US cities in competition for the location of their new company headquarters. Fact: This placement included about 25,000 (Twenty-five thousand) jobs that average $150,000 income per year each, or about $30 Billion in taxable income over a period of ten years. Fact:  The city of New York, to win the competition, allowed Amazon a $3 Billion corporate tax break to locate their new headquarters in a part of New York City largely represented by Freshman Congressperson Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Fact: NY Governor Cuomo, and NY City Mayor deBlazio then argued that New York should not subsidize the richest man in the world (Owner of Amazon, Mr. Bezos) with a $3 Billion tax break. Fact:  Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez added that the $3 Billion (that cannot exist as spendable money by NY) would be better spent on more school teachers, at which time Mr. Bezos summarily cancelled all plans to locate Amazon headquarters in New York.

Analysis and Conclusion relative to theft:

Unlike socialist political negotiations, free and capitalistic enterprises do not require any negotiation, compromise, or diplomacy with ‘Stupid’. Once ‘Stupid’ and unfairness is seen by the most casual of observers in human relations, the greatest value ingredient for the presenter, which is more time, is economically eliminated, without fanfare or gnashing of teeth. The final, operative word of the presenter is simply, “Goodbye!”. This MOT Poll Ballot weighs the theft of limited US public time and attention by the Main Stream Media on local news versus news of national importance.
